Margaret has over 17 years of architectural experience, over 5 of those with DRKR Architects. She is experienced with client liaison, coordination with consultants and contract administration. She has extensive experience in space planning, design, production of construction documents and preparation of presentations.
Margaret enjoys working collaboratively with clients, colleagues, consultants, and contractors. She firmly believes that a team approach provides the best solutions to meet the client's needs and desires.
Margaret has particular strengths in the area of problem solving and enjoys the challenge that adaptive reuse and existing site/building issues present. She is currently the Project Architect for the 60,000 sq. ft. Oceans Excellence Centre which is an addition to the Life Sciences Centre at Dalhousie University. Her recently completed large scale projects include the O'Regans Automall in Dartmouth and Armoury Square Condominiums and Townhouses in Halifax.
Prior to joining DRKR, Margaret worked at G.F. Duffus and Co. Architects where she gained significant experience in designing and detailing documents for conservation, preservation, and restoration of Heritage Buildings of all types.
As well as working for Maritime Tel & Tel (now Bell Aliant) Building Engineering and John Dobbs Architects she has also worked in the Town of Yarmouth Planning Office, where she drafted the town's Heritage District Planning By-Laws.
